What the job is: This is a casual, fixed-term position for a Frontshop Assistant at the Dis-Chem Pharmacy in Optenhorst, Paarl, Western Cape. The role involves assisting customers at the point of sale while maintaining shop neatness, stock levels, and adherence to company policies.

What you will do:
- Ensure all products are neatly displayed and stocked, checking for expired or out-of-stock items.
- Process payments (cash, cards, vouchers, coupons) and handle returns/exchanges as needed.
- Manage loyalty cards, maintain cash safety, and verify transaction accuracy.
- Assist with stock deliveries, price tag accuracy, and reporting discrepancies to management.
- Maintain a tidy storeroom and assist with stock counts.
- Provide friendly customer service, address inquiries, and report feedback to management.
- Train new team members and uphold Dis-Chem’s cleanliness, safety, and appearance standards.

What you need:
- Grade 12 (Matric) certificate or Senior Certificate.
- Up to 6 months of retail experience preferred (1 year or Retail Business Management certification advantageous).
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Strong communication skills and ability to follow procedures.
- Availability for retail hours (evenings, weekends, holidays).
- South African citizenship, clean criminal record, valid driver’s license, reliable transport, and good credit rating.
