We are looking for a kind and experienced Carer to join the team at Faircape Health’s Noordhoek Manor in Noordhoek, Western Cape. Faircape Health is part of the Faircape Group and manages luxury lifestyle villages with advanced healthcare centers. This role is ideal for someone who lives near Fish Hoek or is willing to commute daily. You will provide personalized care to residents who need long-term support, including frail care, dementia care, palliative care, rehabilitation, and respite care.

As a Carer, your main job will be to help residents with their daily activities based on their individual care plans. This includes assisting with personal hygiene like bathing, showering, dressing, and grooming. You will also spend time with residents, offering companionship and emotional support, such as taking them for walks, sitting with them during meals, helping with feeding if needed, and joining them in activities.

You will need to record all interactions with residents using the company’s electronic system, Healthware, on a provided company cellphone. If you notice any changes or concerns about a resident’s health, you must report it immediately to your supervisor. Following infection control and safety rules is also part of your responsibilities. Occasionally, you will be on camera watch duty during night shifts to ensure residents’ safety and monitor for any risks.

Requirements include experience working as a Carer or in a similar role, with knowledge of caring for older adults, including dementia, palliative, and rehabilitative care. Training as a Carer from a recognized organization is helpful, and SETA accreditation is an advantage. Important skills include being compassionate, patient, and understanding, as well as having strong communication and teamwork abilities. You must be physically strong and able to follow instructions carefully.

You will need to pass background checks, including a clear health record, criminal record, and credit record. References from previous employers are required.

This is a permanent full-time position with a competitive salary, including extra pay for working Sundays, public holidays, and additional shifts. You will also receive quarterly bonuses based on performance, an allowance for short-notice shifts, and opportunities for professional growth. Night shifts include a night shift allowance. Work hours are flexible, with shifts starting at 7 AM or 7 PM, depending on your preference.
