This job is for an Accountant who will work in the Mill Operations department at a food production company in Bellville, Western Cape. You will report to the Financial Manager and play a key role in managing the financial health of the mill. The company specializes in food production, and this position requires someone with strong accounting skills and experience in manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Handle daily financial tasks including reconciling sales, validating supporting documents, and investigating weight discrepancies.
- Manage daily and month-end journal entries in SAP.
- Oversee fixed assets, petty cash, credit card transactions, and payments compliance.
- Assist with inventory verification and reconciliations.
- Prepare weekly and monthly financial reports for mill leadership.
- Monitor expenses, investigate budget overspends, and assist with budgeting.
- Support internal controls, audits, and compliance with company policies.

Requirements:
- Grade 12 certificate or equivalent and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance.
- 5+ years of experience in operational accounting, with 3-5 years in manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of internal controls, cost accounting, IFRS, and VAT principles.
- Advanced SAP ERP skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel).
