Toolroom Supervisor

A plastics manufacturing company in Cape Town, Western Cape, is looking for a Toolroom Supervisor. This person will manage the toolroom team and keep plastic injection moulds in good working order.

What the job is You will be in charge of the toolroom where moulds for plastic products are made and fixed. Your job is to make sure the moulds work well so production runs smoothly.

What you will do - Oversee daily toolroom work and manage the team. - Fix and maintain moulds to reduce machine downtime. - Find and repair faults in moulds. - Check moulds regularly and suggest improvements. - Make sure maintenance tasks are done on time. - Help with new moulds, installations, and repairs. - Work with suppliers for tooling and spare parts. - Keep the toolroom clean and safe. - Follow safety rules and teach others to do the same. - Train and guide junior team members.

What you need - Matric certificate. - Trade qualification as a Toolmaker (N3). - At least 10 years of experience in mould maintenance for plastic injection moulding. - At least 5 years of experience leading a team. - Good hands-on skills in fixing moulds. - Strong problem-solving abilities. - Good at organizing and delegating tasks. - Knowledge of safety procedures. - Good communication and leadership skills. - Ability to work with contractors and suppliers. - Willing to work overtime and weekends when needed.

What you will get - A salary between R520,000 and R585,000 per year.
