What the job is

This is a Spa Receptionist position at Sun International in Cape Town. You will be the first point of contact for guests visiting the spa, ensuring they feel welcome and well taken care of from the moment they arrive.

What you will do

You will greet guests warmly and professionally when they arrive or call. You will handle phone calls, WhatsApp messages, and emails, answering questions and providing clear information about spa services, promotions, and packages. You will manage appointment bookings, changes, and cancellations, and keep the booking system up to date. You will process payments, issue receipts, and handle cash and credit transactions accurately. You will also assist with selling spa products, tracking sales, and promoting special offers and loyalty programs. Additionally, you will collect client wellness information, such as allergies or medical concerns, and pass it on to therapists. You will ensure the reception area is clean, tidy, and well-stocked, and work closely with therapists and housekeeping to keep operations running smoothly.

What you need

You must have a Grade 12 certificate. You should have 1 to 2 years of experience working in a similar role at a spa. You need to be skilled in using spa booking systems, managing appointments, and operating POS systems for payments. Good communication skills, knowledge of spa services and products, and the ability to upsell treatments are essential. You should also be familiar with health, safety, and hygiene protocols, and able to maintain client records confidentially. The ability to work shifts as required is important.
