Senior Technologist for Fault Investigations

This is a full-time position at Eskom, South Africa’s main electricity provider, based in Germiston, Gauteng. As a Senior Technologist for Fault Investigations, you will investigate and resolve faults in the power system to ensure reliability and stability of electricity supply. Responsibilities include analyzing transmission technical reports, supporting the National Control Centre and NTCSA grids, mentoring junior engineers, and applying protection philosophies for transmission and sub-transmission systems. The role involves monitoring electricity quality, managing voltage/frequency issues, and reducing interruptions. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree/Bachelor of Technology/National Higher Diploma in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (NQF Level 7) with 360+ credits, 4+ years of technical experience in power systems, and ECSA registration.
