This is a full-time position for a Senior Office Administrator at the South African Medical Research Council (SAMRC) in Cape Town. The role involves providing essential support to the Knowledge Information Management Services (KIMS) Division, managing daily operations, records, and office systems while ensuring compliance with SAMRC’s rules and policies. Responsibilities include handling office supplies, equipment, travel arrangements, library interlibrary loan systems, financial tasks (invoices, expenditure, JDE system transactions), meeting/event organization, and maintaining digital/paper records. The role requires collaboration with the Division Manager and KIMS team, acting as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders. Qualifications include a National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Office Administration, Public Administration, Business Administration, or Library and Information Science, with at least 3 years of administrative experience, including 1 year in a research/academic library setting. Knowledge of public entity operations, financial administration, and JD Edwards procurement is preferred.
