What the job is: This job is for a Senior Desktop Support Engineer at Prescient, a company in the financial services industry. You will be based in Cape Town, Western Cape, and work full-time to improve and manage the company’s computer systems for employees. The role focuses on ensuring all desktops, laptops, and other devices work smoothly, while updating and modernizing device setups and maintenance processes.

What you will do: Build and improve Windows 11 computer images and deployment processes using WDS (Windows Deployment Services). Manage operating systems, drivers, and device setup, including Microsoft Autopilot. Handle Apple macOS devices alongside Windows machines. Package, test, and install software applications using Microsoft Intune and other tools. Automate tasks with PowerShell scripts and workflows (e.g., n8n). Provide second-level support to employees, resolving issues remotely and in-person. Manage IT equipment lifecycle, documentation, and training. Collaborate with IT service desk and infrastructure teams.

What you need: At least 5 years of desktop/end-user support experience in a corporate setting. Required skills include Windows 11 imaging/deployment (WDS), SCCM/MECM, Intune, PowerShell scripting, and Microsoft 365 services support. Experience with macOS, Microsoft Entra ID, and tools like Ninja/Netskope is a plus. Matric (Grade 12) is mandatory; IT diplomas/degrees or certifications (e.g., MD-102, SC-300, MS-102, CompTIA A+/N+) are advantageous.
