Senior Database Administrator (SQL Server and Azure)

We are looking for an experienced Senior Database Administrator to join a major banking client on a 6-month contract. This role is based in Johannesburg, Gauteng, with a flexible hybrid work arrangement. You will manage and improve a complex SQL Server environment that includes both cloud-based and on-premise systems. Responsibilities include ensuring database availability, security, performance optimization, and cloud migration support. Requirements include 7+ years of experience in SQL Server administration, Azure expertise (Azure SQL Database, Managed Instance, VMs), hybrid cloud knowledge, and strong T-SQL skills. Nice-to-have: AWS databases, DevOps, and automation tools. A degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred. Certifications in Azure (DP-300, AZ-104, AZ-305) and SQL Server are a plus.
