What the job is
This job is for a Senior Cloud Engineer who will work with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) in Bramley, Gauteng. You will help design, build, and manage cloud systems that are safe, fast, and reliable. You will work with other teams to make sure the cloud services work well and meet business needs.

What you will do
- Design and build cloud systems on Google Cloud.
- Keep cloud systems running smoothly and fix problems when they happen.
- Write scripts to automate tasks and make work easier.
- Use tools like Terraform to manage cloud setups.
- Make sure cloud systems are secure and follow rules.
- Set up monitoring to track performance and fix issues.
- Work with developers, security teams, and others to improve cloud services.
- Help fix problems when things go wrong.
- Set up and manage tools for automatic software updates.
- Teach and guide junior engineers.
- Look for ways to improve cloud systems and processes.

What you need
- At least 3 years of experience working with cloud systems.
- At least 2 years of experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Experience with GCP tools like Compute Engine, Kubernetes, Cloud Storage, and BigQuery.
- Experience with Terraform and writing code to manage cloud setups.
- Ability to write scripts using Python or Bash.
- Experience setting up automatic software updates.
- Knowledge of cloud security and how to keep systems safe.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Experience teaching or guiding others.

Nice to have
- Experience with more than one cloud provider.
- Knowledge of big data tools on GCP.
- Experience making cloud systems run faster.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes and containers.
- Experience with large cloud systems.
