What the job is

This is a Senior Clerk position in Human Resources at iLembe District Municipality, located in the iLembe region of KwaZulu-Natal. The role involves assisting with various administrative tasks in the HR department to ensure smooth operations and support for employees.

What you will do

You will help the HR Officer coordinate administrative tasks related to employment and leave management. This includes processing job applications, organizing interview documents, and maintaining a computerized tracking system for personnel files. You will also assist with the Employee Self Service (ESS) system by registering employees and training them on how to use it. Additionally, you will prepare employment notifications, such as confirmation letters and contract letters, and ensure all personnel records are updated and stored securely according to approved systems.

What you need

You must have a Matric certificate (NQF Level 4) and preferably a National Diploma in Human Resource Management, Public Administration, or an equivalent qualification. You should have 2 to 3 years of experience in administration or an HR environment. Computer literacy is required. You must also understand municipal staff regulations, the Labour Relations Act, and the Municipal Systems Act, as well as HR policies related to recruitment, employment equity, and diversity.
