What the job is: This job is for a Regional Merchandise Manager at The Building Company in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape. You will manage merchandise, suppliers, and stock to ensure stores in the region have the right products at the right time. The role involves working closely with suppliers, store managers, and the merchandising team to maintain smooth operations.

What you will do: Create and implement procurement strategies for the region, aligning with company plans and budgets. Work with category managers and product specialists to solve supply chain issues and improve efficiency. Negotiate prices with suppliers, including base prices, regional deals, and promotions. Build strong relationships with suppliers and internal teams. Manage new regional supplier onboarding, staff training, and stock level monitoring. Maintain accurate stock records, manage promotions, and gather competitor insights. Support company values and culture.

What you need: Grade 12 certificate (Matric) required. Tertiary qualification in retail, procurement, or related fields is a plus. Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar retail role, preferably at middle management level, with responsibilities in procurement, supplier negotiations, and team coordination.
