What the job is: This job is for a Receiving Clerk at the Dis-Chem Pharmacies store in Preller Square, Bloemfontein, Free State. Dis-Chem is looking for someone to help manage the receiving, checking, and organizing of stock for their pharmacy. The role is permanent, meaning you would work here long-term if hired.

What you will do: As a Receiving Clerk, your main job will be to ensure all products delivered to the store are correct, in good condition, and ready for sale. You will check every delivery against the invoice to confirm the right items, quantities, and quality arrived. If something is wrong—like missing items or damaged goods—you will handle returns and credit notes properly. You will also scan and record all incoming stock so it can be sent to the right place in the store quickly.

Another important part of the job is keeping the storeroom tidy and secure. You will ensure heavy or risky items are managed safely, and help prepare reports if there are problems with deliveries. Sometimes, you may also assist the Receiving Manager with tasks like logging warehouse claims or processing returns to suppliers. The job involves lifting and moving boxes that weigh more than 20 kilograms.

What you need: To apply for this job, you need to have completed Matric (Grade 12). You should be comfortable using a computer and have good math skills to check numbers quickly. Since this is a retail job, you must be willing to work during store hours, which could include evenings, weekends, or holidays.

Having experience in receiving, retail, or fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) would be a big advantage, but it’s not required for entry-level candidates. You must also be able to speak English well and work well with suppliers, managers, and other staff.
