Python and AI Developer

This is a full-time, permanent remote job for a Python and AI Developer. The company builds a data collaboration platform with a focus on user privacy. The role involves modernizing legacy database systems (T-SQL) to Spark and Delta Lake technology, designing efficient data pipelines using PySpark, and developing secure FastAPI-based APIs. Key responsibilities include writing well-structured Python code with pytest testing, implementing CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring system reliability through comparisons with legacy systems. The candidate must have 4+ years of Python experience, including 2+ years with Spark or similar distributed systems. A degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience is required. Preferred skills include modern Python (3.12+), Pydantic, type hints, Spark (DataFrame API, SQL, tuning), Delta Lake, SQL, FastAPI, Docker, Git, and CI/CD tools. Salary range: R750,000 - R1,050,000 per year.
