This job is for two Programme Coordinators for the BA Programme at the University of the Free State. The university is looking for permanent academic staff who already work in the Faculty of Humanities. The position is based in Bloemfontein, Free State, and the contract lasts for five years. Only applications from current permanent academic staff within the Faculty of Humanities will be accepted.

As a Programme Coordinator, you will lead and manage the BA Programme by planning and monitoring its performance, ensuring resource allocation, and reporting on progress. Responsibilities include managing student enrolment, advising students, and improving the curriculum. You will collaborate with academic staff, students, industry partners, and stakeholders to maintain programme relevance and student success.

Requirements include a PhD at NQF Level 10 in a Humanities-related field, full-time permanent academic staff status at UFS, and at least two years of tertiary teaching experience. Strong strategic thinking, leadership, and teamwork skills are essential.

This is a contract position with an allowance paid according to the university’s approved formula. The job starts on January 1, 2027, or as soon as possible after that.
