This job is for a Production Manager to work at a leading company in the manufacturing, carpentry, and shopfitting industry. The company specializes in custom joinery, shelving, and high-end shopfitting solutions. Located in Blouberg, Western Cape, this role is perfect for someone with experience in managing production teams and processes in woodworking and related fields.

As the Production Manager, you will lead the day-to-day operations of the workshop and factory. This includes overseeing the entire production process, from receiving raw timber and wood materials to assembling the final products like shopfitting and joinery. You will be responsible for planning and scheduling work to meet production targets and deadlines, ensuring everything runs smoothly and efficiently. Monitoring product quality and making sure all work meets industry standards and safety regulations will also be part of your role. You will supervise and support the workshop staff, carpenters, and technical teams, helping them perform at their best. Additionally, you will focus on reducing waste and controlling costs by optimizing how materials are used.

To qualify for this job, you need at least a Grade 12 / Matric certificate. Having extra training or qualifications in Production Management, Wood Technology, or Carpentry will be a big advantage. You should have experience working as a Production Manager in the wood, carpentry, shopfitting, or shelving/joinery industries. A strong understanding of woodworking machinery, joinery techniques, and how to work with different types of wood is important. You must be a good leader who can manage teams effectively, solve problems quickly, and stay organized even when working under tight deadlines.
