What the job is

This is a Product Manager role at Lesaka Technologies, a fast-growing fintech company based in Plattekloof, Western Cape. The company specializes in financial services like banking, payments, and lending for businesses and consumers across Southern Africa. You will work in a hybrid setup, reporting to the Chief Product Officer.

What you will do

You will manage the core system that supports all transactions across the company’s products. This includes ensuring transactions like voucher purchases, electricity tokens, and bill payments are processed reliably, quickly, and without errors. You will improve transaction success rates, reduce delays, and maintain high system uptime. You will also plan and manage integrations with payment methods, partners, and APIs to make onboarding faster. Additionally, you will set technical requirements for engineering teams, compare the company’s systems against industry standards, and reduce costs by optimizing transaction routing and recovery processes. You will identify and prioritize reliability issues to prevent repeated problems.

What you need

You need at least 3 years of experience in product management, specifically in platform, payments, or transaction-related products. You should have a strong understanding of transaction flows, integrations, and technical requirements. The ability to analyze transaction and failure data to create a prioritized roadmap is essential. You must be comfortable working closely with engineering teams to make architectural decisions without managing the day-to-day development. Experience with payment switches, aggregators, or high-volume transaction environments is a plus.
