What the job is: This job is for a Principal Clerk in the Purchase Order Expediting role at Eskom, South Africa’s main electricity supplier. The position is based in Atlantis, Western Cape, and involves working in the electricity, energy, and water supply industry. You will be part of the Generation department, specifically the Peaking Operating Unit, helping to manage and expedite the process of ordering and receiving supplies.

What you will do: You will be responsible for ensuring purchase orders are processed quickly and efficiently. This includes following up with suppliers to confirm orders have been received and delivered on time. You will handle urgent or low-value purchases, as well as special requests requiring quick approval. You will also provide general administrative support, such as organizing documents and assisting with paperwork.

What you need: To qualify, you must have completed Grade 12 (Matric) and have at least 2 years of experience in a commercial or logistics-related role involving ordering, purchasing, or supply chain tasks. Important skills include strong communication, people skills, honesty, reliability, and proficiency in SAP systems (MM and PR modules). Basic knowledge of safety regulations and the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act is also required.
