Faircape Restaurant and Catering, part of Faircape Life Retirement Villages, is looking for a friendly and professional part-time Bartender/Waiter to work at their Onrus Manor location in Hermanus, Western Cape. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working in a hospitality setting and wants flexible hours while providing excellent service to residents and guests.

As a Bartender/Waiter at Faircape, you will be responsible for preparing and serving both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, including professional wine service. You will also serve food and beverages in a polite and efficient manner, ensuring tables are set neatly and dining areas are kept clean and hygienic. Your duties will include changing table linen, restocking bar supplies, and maintaining accurate billing for orders. You will need to assist with private events and special occasions when required, and handle customer complaints or questions in a professional way. Additionally, you will help with stock counts and report any shortages or issues to the manager.

To succeed in this role, you should have experience working as both a waiter and a bartender, with knowledge of serving etiquette and basic wine service. Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or retirement village is a plus. Excellent communication skills, a strong focus on customer service, and the ability to work well in a team are essential. Being well-presented, reliable, and able to handle busy periods calmly is also important. All applicants must have a clear health, criminal, and credit record, along with contactable references.

This part-time position offers around 12 shifts per month, with each shift lasting approximately 4 hours. You will earn a competitive salary, with Sundays paid at time and a half and public holidays at double time. Quarterly performance bonuses are also available based on individual and company performance. The role is permanent, providing stability while allowing for flexible working hours. Preference will be given to candidates living in the Hermanus area.
