What the job is: This job is for a Merchandiser at the Hemmingways store in East London, Eastern Cape. Dis-Chem Pharmacies is looking for someone to help keep the store organized, stocked, and ready for customers. The role involves ensuring products are displayed properly, stock levels are managed, and customers receive good service.

What you will do: You will be responsible for restocking shelves and displays to ensure products are always available and visible. This includes unpacking deliveries, storing stock correctly, and checking for expired items. You will maintain neat shelves, clear labels, and correct prices. You will report issues like low stock or damaged products to your manager.

You will assist with stocktaking and inventory management, including loading/unloading stock, flattening boxes, and keeping the storeroom tidy. You will also help train new staff and provide customer service, answering questions and resolving stock-related issues. Your role includes keeping up with new products and maintaining promotional displays.

What you need: To apply, you need to have completed Grade 12 or Matric. Retail experience is preferred but not required. Comfort with basic computer programs like Microsoft Office is essential. You must be willing to work during store hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Clear English communication is important, as you will interact with customers, staff, and managers daily. You should be presentable, honest, reliable, and have good time management skills. Speaking another language like Xhosa is an advantage. Knowledge of merchandising standards or the FMCG industry is a plus but not required.
