What the job is

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is looking for a Merchandiser to work at their Northridge Mall store in Bloemfontein, Free State. This is a permanent position with a well-known retail pharmacy company. The role involves maintaining store standards and providing excellent customer service to ensure a positive shopping experience.

What you will do

You will restock merchandise to maximize sales and ensure products are always available on shelves. You will check that stock is stored correctly and that expired or damaged items are reported to management. You will also maintain neat and organized displays, rotate stock on a first-in-first-out basis, and assist with stocktaking and loading stock. Additionally, you will help train new staff, handle customer queries, and ensure the store and its products are always presented well. You must follow all company policies, health and safety rules, and wear the correct uniform at all times.

What you need

You must have a Matric certificate (Grade 12) and up to 6 months of retail experience. Basic computer skills, especially with MS Office, are required. You should be willing to work retail hours, which may include weekends or public holidays. Having at least one year of retail experience is an advantage. You must be physically fit to lift heavy boxes and have reliable transport or live near the store. A clear criminal and credit record is also required.
