What the job is

This is a full-time Machine Operator position at SAFAL Group, a manufacturing company located in Mariakani. The role involves operating and monitoring equipment in the Entry Section of a production line to ensure smooth material flow and meet production targets.

What you will do

You will operate and monitor equipment to achieve production goals and maintain a steady flow of materials. You will check material details, specifications, and production schedules before starting work. You will prepare, thread, and feed strips into the pickling process and keep accurate records of production, welding, and inspections. You will support maintenance activities, both planned and emergency, and perform basic equipment care tasks. You will also monitor performance to find ways to improve productivity and reduce downtime.

Additionally, you will ensure coils are processed according to quality standards and report any issues with materials or processes. You will maintain proper documentation for product traceability and participate in problem-solving and improvement initiatives. You will follow all safety rules, use protective equipment, and report unsafe conditions. You will also help with safety inspections, drills, and maintaining a clean workspace.

What you need

You need a KCSE Certificate and a Government Grade Test II in General Fitting, Mechanical Engineering Craft Certificate, or an equivalent technical qualification. At least 2 years of experience operating machines in a manufacturing environment is required, with at least 1 year of experience in pickling line operations, steel processing, or similar production work. Knowledge of strip welding, coil handling, and pickling line operations is an advantage. Skills in production planning, quality inspection, troubleshooting, and teamwork are important.
