What the job is

This is a permanent position for a Logistics Manager specializing in cold meats, based in Salt River, Cape Town, Western Cape. The role is offered by Impact HR and focuses on managing the supply chain for temperature-sensitive meat products.

What you will do

You will develop and implement strategies to optimize the storage and distribution of cold meat products. You will manage daily logistics operations, including inventory control, warehousing, and transportation. You will work with suppliers, distributors, and internal teams to ensure a smooth supply chain. You will monitor performance metrics and make data-driven decisions to improve efficiency. You will ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards and coordinate audits with the quality assurance team. You will lead and mentor logistics staff and manage the logistics budget.

What you need

You must have proven experience in logistics management, preferably in the food industry with temperature-sensitive products. You should have a strong understanding of supply chain principles, including inventory and distribution strategies. You need excellent organizational skills to handle multiple priorities and strong leadership abilities to manage teams in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in logistics software and warehouse management tools is required, along with excellent communication skills.
