What the job is

This is a job for an International Purchasing and Customs Entry Clerk at a well-known company in the consumer goods and distribution industry. The position is based in Parow, Western Cape, and is a permanent role. The company is looking for someone to help manage international purchasing and customs processes.

What you will do

You will handle international purchasing tasks, including working with suppliers and freight forwarders from other countries. You will prepare and process customs entries and import documentation to ensure goods clear customs smoothly. You will manage administrative tasks related to purchasing and imports, keeping accurate records and ensuring all paperwork is complete. You will use ERP or purchasing systems to track orders and manage data. You will also communicate with suppliers and service providers to follow up on orders and resolve any issues.

What you need

You must have a Grade 12 or Matric certificate. A qualification in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Logistics, Imports/Exports, or a related field will be helpful. You need at least 2 to 4 years of experience in international purchasing, imports, customs, or a similar role. You should have practical experience with customs entries and import documentation. Strong skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, are required. You must have excellent attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and strong communication and negotiation skills. The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines is essential.
