What the job is

This is a full-time HR People Partner role at Smollan, a company based in Cape Town. The job involves working closely with the business to manage and improve how employees are handled, ensuring the company runs smoothly and effectively.

What you will do

You will review and improve hiring processes, analyze staffing needs, and manage recruitment for head office positions. You will monitor how long it takes to fill jobs and the quality of new hires, as well as ensure employment equity plans are followed. You will also handle employee relations, making sure company policies and labor laws are followed, resolving conflicts, and representing the company at the CCMA if needed. Additionally, you will manage HR projects, develop training plans, deliver training, and maintain HR systems and records. You will also work on payroll-related tasks like managing claims and stop payments.

What you need

You need a diploma or degree (NQF level 7) and at least 6 to 7 years of experience in general HR, preferably in a service or FMCG environment. You must have strong knowledge of labor laws like the BCEA and LRA, as well as experience with HR systems, recruitment, training, and employee relations. Good communication skills, both written and verbal, and computer literacy, especially with Microsoft Office, are required.
