What the job is

This is a full-time position for a General Manager Legal at Eskom, a leading company in the electricity, energy, and water supply industry. The role is based in Sunninghill, Gauteng, and involves providing legal support and advisory services to the Eskom Group. You will report to the Group Executive Distribution and work closely with the Head of Legal to develop and execute the division’s strategy.

What you will do

You will ensure legal operational effectiveness and review processes within the company. Your responsibilities include formulating and executing legal strategies, providing strategic and professional legal advice, and managing a professional legal advisory team. You will also advise on the implementation of legislation and case law, as well as manage relationships with external attorneys and clients.

What you need

To qualify for this role, you must have an LLB or B Proc degree at NQF level 8 and be an admitted Attorney or Advocate. You need at least 10 years of post-admission experience in a legal and strategic environment. Registration with the Legal Practice Council (LPC) is required. Strong leadership, teamwork, and communication skills are essential, along with knowledge of relevant legal principles and Eskom policies.
