What the job is

The Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board is looking for a Gaming Auditor to join their team in Parow, Western Cape. This government organization oversees and regulates gambling and betting activities in the province. The role involves checking that licensed gambling businesses follow the law and operate fairly.

What you will do

You will plan and carry out audits at casinos, betting shops, and other licensed gambling venues to ensure they comply with the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Act and other relevant laws. You will develop audit programs, review tax returns and financial reports, and prepare detailed reports on your findings. You will also investigate complaints, recommend improvements to operators, and stay updated on industry changes. Additionally, you will work with license holders to ensure they understand and meet regulatory requirements.

What you need

You must have a National Diploma or Degree in Auditing, Accounting, Finance, Forensic Accounting, Risk Management, or Commerce. You also need at least three years of experience in financial or regulatory auditing. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, as well as the ability to write clear reports. You must have a valid driver’s license, your own reliable transport, and be willing to travel. High integrity, attention to detail, and strong problem-solving skills are required. Knowledge of database checks is a plus.

What you will get

The salary is R 680,448.98 per year, including a 13th cheque. This is a permanent, full-time position with opportunities to work in a regulated and dynamic industry.
