What the job is

This is a full-time position for a Financial Operations Manager at Sun International, based in Polokwane. The role involves overseeing the financial operations of a business unit within the company, ensuring accurate financial planning, reporting, and compliance with regulations.

What you will do

You will lead the financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes for the business unit. You will analyze financial results, trends, and variances to provide recommendations for improving financial performance. You will maintain financial governance, controls, and risk-management practices to ensure compliance with IFRS, tax regulations, and gaming requirements. You will oversee financial transactions, reporting, and coordination with the Finance Shared Services Centre. You will also manage CAPEX requirements, procurement, stock controls, and internal and external audits. Additionally, you will lead, coach, and develop the finance team while building strong relationships with stakeholders.

What you need

You must have a B.Com Honours (CTA) with Articles or an equivalent qualification. A Chartered Accountant (CA) registration is advantageous. You need at least 5 years of experience in financial management, including managing budgets, forecasts, financial controls, and teams. Strong knowledge of financial reporting, accounting principles, and audit coordination is required. Experience in hospitality or gaming and the ability to meet key Gaming Licence requirements are beneficial.
