This job is for an Event Coordinator at Topco Media, a well-known media and events company based in Cape Town. They create exciting and high-quality events that leave a strong impression. As an Event Coordinator, you will help plan and run events from start to finish. You will find and book venues, catering, entertainment, and other suppliers that fit the event’s needs and budget. You will create detailed plans and timelines to ensure everything runs smoothly and on time.

You will also organize venue setup, including seating, decorations, staging, and branding. This means working with sponsors and exhibitors to ensure their booths and activations are ready on time. On the day of the event, you will coordinate with suppliers like AV teams, transport, and entertainers to ensure everything goes as planned.

Besides planning, you will help track the event budget and expenses, manage registrations, and create event materials like designs and printouts. You will keep the Head of Events updated on progress and ensure all teams and suppliers are working together well.

To do this job, you need a degree in event management, hospitality, marketing, or a related field. You should have at least 1 to 3 years of experience in coordinating events, especially in media, corporate, or high-profile settings. Strong organizational skills, good communication, and the ability to solve problems quickly are very important.

You must be able to work well under pressure, manage multiple tasks at once, and work closely with both internal teams and external suppliers. Being detail-oriented and proactive will help you succeed in this role.
