Credit Controller

This job is for a Credit Controller at BDO South Africa, based in the Illovo area of Johannesburg, Gauteng. The role focuses on managing and collecting payments from clients to ensure timely payment. Key responsibilities include holding monthly meetings with partners to discuss outstanding debts, maintaining accurate client account details, tracking invoices in the Maconomy system, and following up on overdue payments via email, letter, and phone calls. You will work with engagement managers to resolve payment delays, provide weekly reports on overdue accounts, and maintain detailed records of collection attempts. Additional tasks include identifying debts for write-off, correcting overprovision errors, and adapting to updated credit control processes. Requirements: Matric with Maths or Accounting, 5+ years of credit control/collections experience, proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel), strong problem-solving and communication skills, and a command of English.
