This job is for a Clinical Instructor in Radiography at Durban University of Technology (DUT). This position is part of the Faculty of Health Sciences, specifically in the Radiography department, and is open to both internal and external applicants.

As a Clinical Instructor, your main role will be to train and supervise radiography students in practical settings. You will conduct hands-on training sessions and assess students during their clinical practice. This includes coordinating the day-to-day operations of the Radiography Clinic, ensuring quality control, and monitoring students’ progress. You will also manage the clinic’s daily activities, supervise students, and help prepare them for their professional work. Additionally, you will coordinate clinical grants, communicate with students through both traditional and online methods, and participate in community engagement projects. Other duties may include assisting with administrative tasks, scientific writing, and supporting the department’s goals as assigned by the Head of Department.

To qualify for this position, you must have a B-Tech degree in Diagnostic Radiography or an equivalent qualification. At least three years of experience working as a Diagnostic Radiographer is required, along with registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA). While not mandatory, experience in training students, strong organizational and leadership skills, and proficiency in scientific writing and communication are highly recommended. Computer skills, including the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), internet, and email, are also essential. The ideal candidate is a motivated, responsible, and team-oriented individual who can work independently and collaboratively.

This position is a three-year contract role with a salary that is market-related.
