What the job is

This is a Case Administrator position at the FAIS Ombud office in Pretoria, Gauteng. The role involves providing administrative and client support to help register and process complaints effectively. You will report directly to the Case Admin Manager.

What you will do

You will register new complaints and check if they fall under the FAIS Act or the Financial Services Ombuds Scheme Act. You will assist complainants in understanding whether their complaint is within the office’s jurisdiction. You will extract key details from the complaint information and request additional details if needed. You will also refer complaints outside the office’s jurisdiction to the correct entities. Additionally, you will communicate with complainants and financial service providers.

What you need

You must have a Matric certificate or equivalent qualification. A National Diploma in Business Administration or a related field is required, and a legal qualification would be an advantage. You need at least 1 to 3 years of experience in a regulatory or compliance-driven environment in the financial services sector, as well as 1 to 3 years of customer service experience. Experience using customer relationship management (CRM) software is also required. You should have a good understanding of the FAIS Act and its related laws, as well as knowledge of the FAIS Ombud’s jurisdiction and other Ombud Schemes. Strong people management, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills are essential.
