What the job is

This is a full-time position for a Business Development Consultant based in Johannesburg, Gauteng. The role focuses on growing the company’s market share by finding new clients, managing sales strategies, and ensuring the business meets its annual growth targets. What you will do

You will actively search for and engage potential clients to expand the company’s customer base. You will manage the creation of high-quality proposals, bids, and tender responses, ensuring they are professional, timely, and compliant. You will follow up on leads generated through various channels, including cold calling, and survey potential opportunities. You will also identify weaknesses in the sales process and address them to improve efficiency. Additionally, you will train the team on food hygiene standards like ISO22000 and FSSC22000, and assist with understanding pre-requisite programs in food hygiene. You will implement strategic initiatives to meet or exceed annual growth targets and achieve monthly sales budgets.

What you need

You must have a bachelor’s degree or national diploma in sales, business development, marketing, or a related field. A matric certificate is also required. You need at least 3 years of solid experience in business development and sales best practices, preferably in the food hygiene services industry. Strong knowledge of sales and marketing is essential. You should be skilled in cold calling, managing tenders, and developing strategic sales plans.
