What the job is

This is a full-time position for a Business Development Consultant based in Johannesburg, Gauteng. The role focuses on growing the company’s market share by finding new clients, managing sales strategies, and ensuring the business meets its annual growth targets. The job is permanent and involves working closely with management teams to improve sales processes and expand the company’s reach in the cleaning and hygiene services industry.

What you will do

You will actively search for and engage potential clients to grow the business. You will manage the creation of high-quality proposals, bids, and tender responses, ensuring they are professional, timely, and compliant. You will follow up on leads generated through various channels, including cold calling, and survey potential opportunities. You will identify and address weaknesses in the sales process and follow up on canceled contracts. Additionally, you will implement strategic initiatives to meet or exceed annual growth targets and train the team on industry standards like ISO22000/FSSC22000 and R638.

What you need

You must have a bachelor’s degree or national diploma in sales, business development, marketing, or a related field, along with a Matric Certificate. You need at least 3 years of solid experience in business development and sales best practices, preferably in the cleaning or cross-selling services industry. Strong knowledge of sales and marketing is required, along with skills in cold calling, marketing strategy, and business development. You should also be able to manage strategic suppliers and use the full marketing mix for communications.
