What the job is

This is a Bookkeeper position at Motus Daimler Trucks Airport, part of Motus Corporation. The job is based in Boksburg, Gauteng, and involves working closely with the Finance Manager to support the company’s financial operations.

What you will do

You will prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including ledgers, journals, and bank reconciliations. You will process accounts payable and receivable to ensure invoices are paid on time. You will assist with monthly financial closings and the preparation of financial statements and reports. You will monitor and reconcile bank and credit card statements regularly. You will also manage petty cash cards, perform monthly bank and till account reconciliations, and clear reconciling items. Additional tasks include stationery and grocery management, FIC reporting, sustainability reporting, and preparing monthly management expense reports. You may also assist with first aid when needed.

What you need

You must have a proven track record in bookkeeping or accounting, with experience using accounting software like QuickBooks or Sage. A strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices is required. You should be proficient in Microsoft Excel and have excellent attention to detail. Good organizational and time management skills are essential, as well as effective communication skills. A Matric/NQF Level 4 qualification is required, and a relevant qualification in accounting or finance, such as a Diploma in Accounting or BCom Accounting, is preferred. At least 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the retail or automotive industry, is advantageous. Knowledge of local tax regulations and compliance requirements is a plus.
