What the job is
This job is for an Artworker at ninety9cents, a company based in Cape Town. You will work as a skilled publishing artist, helping to create and manage product and price campaigns across different types of media. Your role is important for making sure ads and promotions look professional and follow the brand’s rules.
What you will do
As an Artworker, you will be responsible for designing layouts for product and price campaigns. This means using approved templates and tools provided by the company to create ads that look good and follow all the rules. You will need to make sure everything is formatted correctly, including sizes, fonts, spacing, and colors that match the brand’s guidelines. You will also check all colors to ensure they match the brand’s color codes and campaign rules.

You will use software like Adobe InDesign to create these layouts and manage your tasks through the company’s workflow system called Workbook. This system helps you receive instructions, share updates, and track your time. You will also work with the Retail Management System (RMS) to ensure all your work is done correctly and follows the company’s processes.
Meeting deadlines is very important, even if they are tight. You must follow the company’s rules for checking finished work, communicating with the team, and handing over your final designs. Every step in the process must be completed carefully, and nothing should be skipped.
Your attention to detail will be crucial. You will need to check every part of your work, including product descriptions, prices, and images, to make sure they are accurate and up to date. You will also ensure that all pricing and promotions are correct and consistent across all layouts. The way products and prices are arranged should be clear and easy to read, following the brand’s style guide.
