Academic Administration Specialist
Job Description
SACAP is looking for an Academic Administration Specialist for 12 months, based at the Head Office in Claremont.
SACAP is seeking an Academic Administration Specialist to provide administrative and operational support to the Academic Dean’s Office and the institutional academic functions.
The Academic Administration Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring the effective functioning of SACAP’s academic operations, contributing to the institution’s commitment to academic excellence and student success.
The candidate will be required to perform various functions that would include:
- Administration of SACAP Senate.
- Administration of Academic Leadership platform.
- Administrative support to Academic Dean and Academic Leadership through scheduling and calendar management, minute taking, document preparation, communication and correspondence.
- Oversee departmental budgeting and procurement.
- Manage academic event planning and execution.
- Administer professional programme selection and registrations.
- Assist with Academic Department Graduation preparations.
- Conduct research and analysis for academic projects.
- Support reporting and presentation of data-driven insights.
- Drive academic projects, ensuring alignment with institutional goals.
- Engage stakeholders and coordinate cross-departmental efforts.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- An Honours degree in Psychology or a related field is required. A Master’s degree (completed or in progress) is advantageous.
- Research experience and strong data analysis skills.
- 3 years or more administrative/operational experience, preferably within the field of education.
SKILLS:
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including minute-taking and report writing.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- A collaborative mindset, with strong interpersonal skills to engage with staff from various departments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other administrative tools.

The role will report directly to the Academic Dean.
Operating Hours:
This is a full-time position operating from Mondays to Fridays*:
Monday to Thursday: 08:30am to 17:00pm
Friday: 08:30am to 16:00pm
*Due to the nature of this role, there will be a need to work flexible hours to the extent to which it is reasonably necessary to perform the duties of the position.
