Responsibilities
- Conduct client consultations to assess financial objectives, risk tolerance, and investment preferences.
- Analyze clients’ financial status, income projections, and other relevant financial details.
- Create customized financial plans covering wealth accumulation, risk management, retirement, tax optimization, and estate planning.
- Advise clients on investment, retirement, insurance, and other financial products suited to their needs.
- Utilize financial modeling to illustrate potential financial scenarios for clients.
- Provide ongoing management and advisory for investment portfolios, including asset allocation and risk management.
- Monitor market trends, economic indicators, and regulations to adjust portfolios as needed.
- Offer advice on a range of investment products, including local and offshore options.
- Maintain regular communication with clients to review and adjust financial plans as necessary.
- Build long-term relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction and loyalty.
- Collaborate with financial service professionals to deliver holistic wealth management.
- Ensure compliance with FAIS, FICA, and other South African financial regulations.
- Conduct thorough KYC and AML processes to mitigate financial risks.
- Document client interactions and financial plans accurately and maintain compliant records.
- Seek new clients through networking, referrals, seminars, and industry events.
- Stay updated on industry trends, financial products, and competitive strategies.
- Contribute to team goals and performance targets.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field.
- Relevant certifications such as CFP (Certified Financial Planner) or CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst).
- 3-5 years of experience in financial planning, wealth management, or advisory roles.
- Proven expertise in portfolio management, tax planning, and retirement planning in South Africa.
- Registered as a Financial Services Provider (FSP) or Representative under FAIS.
- Strong knowledge of FICA and South African financial regulations.
- In-depth knowledge of investment products, financial markets, tax laws, and economic trends.
- Proficient in financial planning tools, software, and MS Office applications.
- Client-centric approach with strong interpersonal skills for understanding client needs.
- Ability to simplify complex financial concepts and establish client trust.
- Detail-oriented with analytical skills to assess financial information and create solutions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to market changes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for clear, effective client interaction.
- Skilled in presenting financial strategies and investment options to individuals and groups.
- High ethical standards, confidentiality, and adherence to compliance standards.
- Proficiency in English
- Willingness to travel locally for client meetings, if required.
