UI/UX Developer – Midrand
Job Description
Dis-Chem Pharmacies Midrand has an opportunity available for a UI/UX Developer. Development, maintenance and improvement of CJ Marketing’s client projects in mostly WordPress, including
the MERN Stack.
Minimum Requirements
Essential:
- Grade 12 – Matric or a Senior Certificate.
- BSc in Computer science, Computer Engineering or related
- 3+ years of professional experience in front-end development
- Cloud Certification (AWS, Google, Azure)
- Minimum 3 years of experience with PHP and PHP frameworks, web services
Job Description
- Develop, test, and maintain high-quality front-end code for the web
- Work closely with designers to bring UI mockups to life with pixel-perfect accuracy
- Optimize applications for speed, performance, and scalability
- Ensure cross-platform and cross-browser compatibility
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation
- Stay up-to-date on front-end trends and best practices
- Strong competency of the use of custom post types.
Competencies:
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript/JQuery and WordPress/PHP
- Solid understanding of responsive design and accessibility standards
- Professional experience in front-end development that can convert transactions from users.
- Communicate in a confident and forceful manner in order to achieve the required goal without being aggressive.
- Builds constructive working relationships characterised by a high level of acceptance, cooperation, and mutual respect.
- Attention to detail. Accuracy. Diligently attend to details and pursues quality in accomplishing tasks. Correct mistakes and takes action to ensure they do not re-occur.

- Ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
- Computer Skills – Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook. Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript/JQuery and WordPress/PHP. Proficiency in developing in React Advantage: Access, RESTful APIs and asynchronous request handling.
