Transport Manager Cape Town
Job Description
You will oversee the entire distribution fleet within the FMCG supply chain sector, ensuring efficient, cost-effective, and compliant transport operations.
The ideal candidate will have:
- At least 10 years of distribution experience, with material handling expertise within FMCG.
- A Transport or Management Diploma is preferred
- SAP proficiency is advantageous.
- Experience in a service environment is desirable and requires personal transport.
Key responsibilities include scheduling preventative vehicle maintenance, managing fleet administration, and compiling KPI reports covering fuel consumption, kilometre statistics, driver ratings, tyre usage, vehicle abuse, and overall fleet performance.
The role involves budget and cost management, ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures, and handling Goods in Transit and Vehicle Accident Insurance claims.
Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills are critical for success in this fast-paced environment. Immediate availability is preferred.
