Toolmaker

Primary purpose of the job:

Reporting to the Toolroom Team Leader. This position requires the services of an individual to manufacture, repair, maintain and modify tools, jigs and dies to ensure that customer and quality standards are met.

Key Performance Areas:

Experience Toolmaker in large skin panels and structural parts

Problem solving experience on the Press line for tooling related issues.

Skin panel experience to understand the tool dominated defects

TIG Welding experience & cutting clearance optimization

Experience in Draw Tool stabilization & formability proving

Must have worked in a Press shop with Automated Press lines started from lead press 200T & 1600T

Knowledge and Skills required:

Communication

Decision Making

Read the CMM reports

Able to read parts and tool drawings

Problem solving

Consistent inspection

Minimum Requirements                                                                                  

Grade 12 and NQF Level 5 qualification

Qualified Tool and Jig Maker

Minimum 4 years’ experience as Toolmaker within automotive environment

Minimum 4 years tool, jig and die repair experience
