Technical Superintendent

Main Purpose of the Job

Booyco Electronics is seeking a skilled Technical Superintendent to provide technical oversight, compliance assurance, and advanced support for our products in the mining sector. This leadership role ensures accurate troubleshooting, adherence to engineering standards, and delivery of exceptional client service while mentoring technical teams and driving quality assurance across field operations.

Education, experience and competencies

• Minimum: National Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering. Additional certification in Compliance or Quality Management will be an advantage.
• 5–7 years’ proven experience in technical product support or compliance within the mining/electronics sector.
• 2–3 years in a supervisory or superintendent role, with demonstrated success in managing technical teams.
• Solid track record in conducting audits, inspections, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations.
• In-depth understanding of electrical/electronic systems and mining safety equipment.
• Practical knowledge of Booyco products, including BEAMS, COCs, and installation/maintenance standards.
• Strong grounding in RCA methodology, incident investigations, and compliance management practices.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, BEAMS/ERP systems, and digital audit/reporting tools.
• Knowledge of SQL/database reporting will be advantageous.
• Medically fit and physically capable of conducting site inspections and fieldwork.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Code 8/10 driver’s licence

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced troubleshooting support to Technical Product Specialists and Software Technicians.
• Lead and oversee Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations for product-related issues.
• Review, approve, and maintain technical documentation, installation packs, and audit reports.
• Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with engineering standards and S21 specifications.
• Lead audits and manage resolution trackers for compliance and quality control.
• Mentor and coach team members while conducting technical training sessions.
• Ensure accurate BEAMS system data and support product testing for new technologies.
