Team Lead – Software Engineering (C#, SQL, AWS)

I’m currently assisting my client, a pioneering fintech innovator, in their search for an experienced Software Engineering Team Lead. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a leadership role where you’ll balance technical delivery with people development-helping build scalable, secure, and innovative payment solutions that make a real impact.

What you’ll do:

• Lead and guide a team of software engineers, driving delivery speed, quality, and operational stability.
• Facilitate agile ceremonies (planning, stand-ups, retrospectives) and ensure team alignment to roadmap goals.
• Mentor and coach engineers through feedback, performance development, and goal-setting.
• Remove blockers, manage trade-offs, and maintain focus on reliable delivery.
• Advocate for best practices in coding, testing, deployment, and documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to align technical delivery with business priorities.
• Provide technical guidance on architecture and pragmatic solutions, balancing delivery with long-term sustainability.
• Champion a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous learning.

What we’re looking for:

✅ 5-8 years’ professional software engineering experience

✅ At least 3 years in a senior or team lead capacity with proven leadership responsibilities

✅ Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent work experience

✅ Strong technical foundation in C#, SQL, and AWS

✅ Experience designing and delivering large-scale systems in production

✅ Proficiency in APIs, integrations, microservices, and distributed systems

✅ Skilled in Git, Docker, RabbitMQ, Postman, and CI/CD pipelines

✅ Excellent communication, prioritisation, and conflict resolution skills

✅ Fintech or payments industry experience (essential)

Nice to have:

• Exposure to Golang or Node.js
• Strategic thinking ability to align technical and business goals
