Job Description
KAMOA COPPER SA is looking for a Superintendent III, Supply Chain Analytics
The Kamoa Copper Mine, is a joint venture between Ivanhoe Mines (39.6%), Zijin Mining Group (39.6%), Crystal River Global Limited (0.8%) and the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo (20%). It’s a very large, near-surface, flat-lying, stratiform copper deposit with adjacent prospective exploration areas within the Central African Copperbelt, at approximately 25 kilometres west of the town of Kolwezi and about 270 kilometres west of the provincial capital of Lubumbashi.
Purpose of the role:
To enhance KCSA’s Supply Chain operational processes through advanced data analytics and project management. The incumbent leverages data to identify opportunities to improve operational efficiencies through systems and process improvements and leads initiatives to enhance the digital capabilities of the Supply Chain function. This role requires a deep understanding of end-to-end supply chain functions, data analysis, ERP tools, and supply chain management software.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Finance, or Economics
- Project management certification
- Relevant post graduate degree with Project Management qualification is preferred
- 8+ years’ experience in Supply Chain in a mining environment with 2 of those in a senior role.
- Proven track record of improving supply chain or logistics operations through data-driven insights
- Proficiency in French and English. Swahili and Mandarin advantageous
Skills and knowledge:
- Supply Chain value chain – logistics, procurement, and operations
- Understanding of all relevant legislation
- Strategic Sourcing and Purchasing,
- Process Planning, Demand Management and Forecasting
- Strong proficiency in supply chain processes and tools
- ERP systems
- Metrics and KPI’s driving supply chain operations
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects and manage a diverse team of stakeholders
- Designing, maintaining, and enhancing processes.
- Data analysis, process analysis & systems thinking.
- Python or R for data analysis
- Experience in conducting Quarterly Business Reviews and managing supplier relationships.
- Knowledge of EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) and familiarity with ASN data management.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel or other coding skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert analytical, strategic, and operational support to the supply chain department
- Leverage data to identify opportunities for continuous improvement
- Motivate and Manage improvement projects
- Generate reports and feedback
- Function as Supply Chain subject matter expert
