SOCIAL MEDIA & DIGITAL MANAGER: BOUTIQUE PR & MARKETING AGENCY
Job Description
We have a tremendous on-site/hybrid opportunity at a growing, award-winning boutique PR & Marketing agency in Cape Town for a Digital-first Senior Social Media & Digital Manager.
In this exciting role, you’ll manage Social Media across LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok (growing rapidly), X, and Facebook, driving both organic and paid efforts (predominantly boosted posts), across channels. From strategy to implementation, you’ll be client-facing, providing exceptional service and insight to key accounts. You’ll be responsible for content creation, with a strong emphasis on writing engaging, original content for all platforms, and play a vital role in developing the agency’s growing Digital offering, including podcast production.
The successful candidate will manage a Junior Social Media Associate, as well as outsourced suppliers (SEO, developers, etc.). Experience in SEO, email Marketing, and graphic design tools (e.g., Canva) is a bonus! If you are a Social Media pro and creative Digital native, we’d love to chat – apply today!
Responsibilities
Social Media Management (70%)
- Manage content and engagement across LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, X, and Facebook
- Develop and implement Social Media strategies from concept through execution
- Plan and oversee paid social, boosting posts and managing budgets.
Content Development & Digital Growth
- Write content for all Social Media channels, creating original, engaging copy
- Develop annual Social Media and content calendars, ensuring alignment with client goals
- Expand the agency’s Digital offerings, including podcast production
- Support with newsletters and email Marketing initiatives, as needed
- Basic graphic design tasks in Canva and, if required, basic video/podcast editing.
Client Service & Relations
- Lead client communications for high-profile global clients; present strategies, reports, and insights
- Collaborate with clients and agency executives to manage personal and corporate social accounts
- Act as a thought leader within the agency, sharing insights, writing articles, and engaging in industry trends
- Participate in new client pitches and provide insight into the agency’s expanding Digital services.
Team Management
- Manage and mentor a Junior Social Media Associate
- Oversee outsourced suppliers, such as SEO specialists and developers
- Foster an environment of collaboration and growth within the Digital and social team.
Requirements
The successful candidate must have/be:
- Industry relevant qualification
- 5-7 years’ experience in Social Media and Digital Marketing
- Proven writing and content development skills
- In-depth knowledge of Sprinklr, Monday.com, Trello, and Airtable
- Familiarity with Social Media platform best practices, including both organic and paid strategies
- Agency experience (essential)
- Strong client service skills with experience in managing accounts independently
- Knowledge of SEO and email Marketing is advantageous
- A collaborative, growth-minded, and proactive approach to team management
- Basic graphic design and video/podcast editing skills – advantageous.
- Knowledge of website backend management for clients – advantageous.
- Ability to create and manage newsletters – advantageous.
