SHERQ Manager – Germiston NEW

RPO Recruitment is currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced SHERQ Manager to join our client’s operations team based in Germiston. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to take full ownership of the Safety, Health, Environmental, Risk, and Quality (SHERQ) function within a fast-paced industrial or manufacturing environment. Responsibilities

• Oversee the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of SHERQ systems and standards.
• Ensure full compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, and company policies.
• Develop and deliver safety training and awareness programs for staff at all levels.
• Conduct routine risk assessments, audits, incident investigations, and root cause analysis.
• Lead ISO compliance efforts and coordinate external audits.
• Compile detailed reports, SHERQ performance metrics, and drive corrective/preventative actions.
• Foster a safety-first culture across all departments.

Requirements

• Matric (Grade 12) with a relevant Diploma or Degree in Safety Management, Environmental Sciences, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a SHERQ or SHEQ Manager role, preferably in manufacturing, logistics, or industrial environments.
• In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 standards and relevant South African legislation.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Ability to develop, implement, and manage effective SHERQ systems.
• Excellent report-writing and analytical capabilities.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to risk mitigation.
