About the Role:
We are looking for a Senior UX Designer to help reshape and enhance a suite of digital products supporting small businesses. This includes tools such as card machines, merchant portals for financial and staff management, and additional back-office systems.
You will work within a cross-functional team that includes fellow designers and technical staff, taking full ownership of the UX process-from research and ideation to design delivery and implementation oversight. Your work will contribute to streamlining and integrating products across multiple digital channels and platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end UX design process: discovery, research, wireframing, prototyping, testing, and implementation
- Conduct client interviews, map user journeys, and define experience requirements
- Create high-fidelity designs and prototypes in Figma and collaborate with developers to ensure accurate implementation
- Work cross-functionally with product managers, developers, and other designers
- Champion user-centered design principles and help shape UX standards
- Ensure designs align with business objectives and user needs
Ideal Candidate Profile
- 4-5+ years of experience in UX design
- Strong creative background with experience leading projects from concept to delivery
- Skilled in tools such as Figma and FigJam
- Proficient in user research, journey mapping, usability testing, and building design systems
- Comfortable presenting to stakeholders and collaborating across teams
- Able to work independently and make confident design decisions
Education & Qualifications
Minimum:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Design
- National Senior Certificate or equivalent
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Design or related field
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong decision-making and project management skills
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
- Proficiency in standard software (e.g., MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to work in an agile environment
- Knowledge of UX design trends, accessibility standards, and visual design best practices
- Understanding of agile product development processes
Additional Information
- Experience in financial services or analytics is a plus
- Understanding of behavioral science, design psychology, or data-driven UX is advantageous
