Senior Systems Engineer (Infrastructure & Automation) (CPT Onsite)
Job Description
ENVIRONMENT:
OUR international client, dealing with Foreign Exchange Trade, seeks a highly skilled & self-driven Senior Systems Engineer with expertise in infrastructure automation, Terraform, and cloud platforms to join its team. You will play a key part in building and maintaining automated infrastructure, driving operational efficiency, and supporting business-critical systems in a high-performance trading environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Linux administration, automation, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles, ensuring scalability, security, and high availability across environments. You will need 5+ years of work experience in Systems Engineering, DevOps, or SRE roles & be proficient in VMware, Proxmox, SQL, No SQL, AWS, Azure, Python, Bash, or PowerShell, Docker, Kubernetes, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Zabbix.
DUTIES:
Infrastructure as Code (IaC) –
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable infrastructure using Terraform, Ansible, and other automation tools.
Automation & DevOps –
- Develop, enhance, and manage CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployments and configuration management.
Cloud & On-Premise Systems –
- Support, optimise, and scale hybrid cloud environments (AWS/Azure) alongside on-premise data centres.
Linux Systems Engineering –
- Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot Linux-based infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance.
Security & Compliance –
- Implement secure system architectures, aligning with ISO 27001 and other regulatory frameworks.
Monitoring & Observability –
- Configure and maintain monitoring solutions (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Zabbix) to ensure proactive issue resolution.
Networking & Performance Optimisation –
- Work with Networking teams to optimise connectivity, security, and system performance across multiple regions.
Technical Leadership & Mentorship –
- Guide junior team members and share knowledge on best practices in infrastructure automation and security.
Capacity Planning & Scaling –
- Ensure infrastructure can scale efficiently to meet growing business demands.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ Years of experience in Systems Engineering, DevOps, or SRE roles.
- Strong proficiency in Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies.
- Experience with Linux administration, virtualisation (VMware, Proxmox), and storage management.
- Familiarity with SQL and No SQL databases.
- Hands-on experience with automation tools (Ansible).
- Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and hybrid-cloud deployments.
- Solid scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation tasks.
- Strong understanding of networking, firewalls, VPNs, and security principles.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Zabbix).
- Familiarity with DevOps methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, SDLC.
- Knowledge of containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
Advantageous –
- Familiarity with Jenkins, ArgoCD, for CI/CD.
- Financial Services or High-performance Trading Infrastructure experience.
- Exposure to multi-region, geo-distributed infrastructure deployments.
