Job Title: Senior Sales Representative

Location: Montague Gardens, Cape Town

A leading plumbing and sheet metal company with over 80 years of industry experience is looking for an experienced Sales Representative with strong experience in/with technical sales to join their team in Montague Gardens, Cape Town. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated sales professional to drive operational safety and efficiency in the commercial sector by identifying potential clients, designing tailored extraction system solutions, and closing sales. Responsibilities:

  • Identify and generate leads within the commercial sector, targeting restaurants, hotels, and industrial kitchens, through cold calling, referrals, networking events, online research, and partnerships with local businesses.
  • Utilise CRM tools to manage leads and track sales progress.
  • Conduct in-depth consultations with potential customers to understand their specific kitchen extraction needs.
  • Evaluate properties’ extraction needs and potential for system integration and provide tailored solutions.
  • Present the operational and safety benefits of advanced extraction systems, including grease and odor elimination, fire risk reduction, and improved air quality.
  • Develop and deliver persuasive sales presentations to educate customers about the company’s product range.
  • Explain the installation process and address any concerns or objections.
  • Prepare comprehensive and accurate proposals outlining recommended extraction system designs, equipment specifications, financial analysis, and estimated return on investment through reduced operational costs.
  • Collaborate with engineering and design teams to ensure accurate and competitive proposals.
  • Effectively negotiate terms and pricing to maximise sales opportunities while ensuring profitability.
  • Overcome objections and address customer concerns to facilitate the closing of deals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers throughout the sales process and beyond.
  • Provide excellent customer service, address enquiries, and manage post-installation follow-up to ensure customer satisfaction and foster referrals.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market dynamics, competitor activities, and government policies related to commercial kitchen safety and ventilation.
  • Continuously enhance knowledge of advancements in extraction technology and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including engineering, installation, and project management, to ensure a seamless transition from sales to installation.
  • Communicate customer requirements and provide necessary documentation for successful project execution.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in sales, preferably within the plumbing, sheet metal, or commercial kitchen equipment industry, with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Experience in designing and quoting commercial extraction systems.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strong understanding of commercial extraction systems, market trends, and safety regulations.
  • Proficiency with CRM software and other sales tools.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented with a passion for operational safety and efficiency.
