KAMOA COPPER SA is looking for a Senior Officer, Fuel Management Analyst

The Kamoa Copper Mine, is a joint venture between Ivanhoe Mines (39.6%), Zijin Mining Group (39.6%), Crystal River Global Limited (0.8%) and the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo (20%). It’s a very large, near-surface, flat-lying, stratiform copper deposit with adjacent prospective exploration areas within the Central African Copperbelt, at approximately 25 kilometres west of the town of Kolwezi and about 270 kilometres west of the provincial capital of Lubumbashi.

Purpose of the role:

The Fuel Management Analyst is responsible for sourcing, analysing, and interpreting data to enhance fuel management strategies within the organization. This role demands a deep understanding of data analytics and its practical applications in improving fuel efficiency, reducing costs, and optimizing processes. The Analyst will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement data-driven improvements and foster a culture of efficient fuel management.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Degree from National or internationally accredited institution in a quantitative field such as statistics, mathematics, computer science, or economics.
  • Relevant Post graduate degree
  • 4 years’ relevant experience in a data analyst role, preferably in the mining supply chain environment
  • Fluency in French and English is essential. Swahili and/or Mandarin advantageous

 

Skills and knowledge:

  • Mathematical and logical reasoning
  • Data mining and Data Analysis tools
  • Knowledge of supply chain management practices
  • Inventory management
  • Forecasting tools and ability to develop actionable insights from data
  • MS Office and computer skills
  • Proficiency in Data Analysis tools
  • Spreadsheet applications, SQL analysis tools and mathematical analysis.
  • Report writing and technical writing
  • Working knowledge of data analysis and visualization tools, such as Microsoft Power BI
